Flight Training Courses

Helitec offers 5 main pilot licence courses: (students shall be self-funded for each of these courses and each course requires the student to meet the required level of competency prior to the issue of a licence)

1. Private Pilot Licence
The Private Pilot Licence allows you to fly friends and family to different locations and includes 10 hours of navigation experience. Helitec does not offer PPLH theory courses.

2.Commercial Pilot Licence
The Commercial Pilot Licence allows you to fly in multiple roles for hire and reward on a commercial basis. This licence allows you to muster cattle (with the appropriate ratings), undertake charter, scenic and aerial work flights. This course requires between 12 weeks full-time classroom study at Helitec and approximately 16 weeks of practical flying tuition combined with theory study.

3. Diploma of Aviation – CPLH
The Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Helicopter) enables students to kick-start their career as a commercial pilot in the aviation industry. It is a full-time course, delivered five-days a week over a period of 28 weeks.

4. Diploma of Aviation – Instructor Rating
The Diploma of Aviation – Flight Instructor Rating enables commercial pilots to kick-start their career and gain valuable hours as a Flight Instructor. It is a full-time course, delivered five-days a week over a period of 8 weeks.

5. Diploma of Aviation – Instrument Rating
The Diploma of Aviation – Instrument Rating enables commercial pilots to kick-start their career as an off-shore pilot, EMS pilot or marine transfer pilot just to name a few career opportunities. It is a full-time course, delivered five-days a week over a period of 8 weeks.
